Shield
Yellow is the color traditionally associated with Cavalry. The embattled chevron symbolizes spearhead capabilities and Armor protected mobility. The spur, alluding to the history and traditions of Cavalry, represents responsiveness and mobility. Together, these elements underscore the unit's mission. The color black connotes determination, dependability and twenty four hour capability.

The crest is that of the Washington Army National Guard.
The coat of arms was approved on 30 June 1989. It was amended to include the crest in the blazon on 14 July 1989.
